LEGACY OF MARATHAS :

  NaadiJodhidam (Jotish) was initially written in Sanskrit on palm leaves by ancient India's renowned Rishis such as Bhrigu, Agasthiya, Kaushika,Vashishtha, and others, and it is more popular in South India. His Highness Sri Venkoji Maharaja, a descendent of Sivaji Maharaja, established Maratha dominion in Tamil Nadu in 1676, with Tanjore as their headquarters. The British took possession from the Marathas in 1798, while Robert Clive was Governor of the Madras Presidency. During their reign, the Marathas were staunch supporters of the arts, sciences, medicine, Vedas, and astrology, among other things.
